About Cameron
Cameron Rashad Thomas was born May 19, 1992, to Mr. Reginald Hoyett and Ms. Carla Harrell. At the age of 2 years old, Cameron was inspired and excited about the Lord. Every Sunday morning before worship, he would make his way to the pastor’s chambers. His joy overflowed into a prophetic sensory; making a profound statement to his mother that he was going to preach and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He accepted his call into the ministry at the age of fourteen (14) years old. In December 2006, he became a licensed minister under the leadership of Reverend Larry Truss, Pastor of the Hatchett Spring Baptist Church in Goodwater, Alabama.
In 2008, he was called to serve as Youth Pastor at the Galilee Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama under Rev. Dr. G. E. Robinson. In September of 2009, he accepted the call to serve as Youth Pastor at the St. Mary Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama where he served under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Reverend Everett B. Kelley. After much prayer, Rev. Thomas accepted the call to become pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cropwell, AL in March of 2013. He is the youngest pastor (20 years old) in the 150 plus year church history to be called to serve Mt. Zion. In addition, he serves as the 1st Vice President of the Northeast State Convention of the Alabama Missionary Baptist Convention. He is the youngest serving vice-president. He also serves on the board of directors for several non-profits. Rev. Thomas is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Reverend Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion paired with a minor in Marketing at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Cameron was the first in history to serve two consecutive terms as SGA President of Samford’s student body. Cameron received his Master of Divinity degree from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, and completed the program in 2017. Cameron is currently pursuing further graduate studies. He is the proud husband of Mrs. Terah Stockdale Thomas. He continues to lecture, preach, and spread the word of God in various cities and towns throughout the southern region.
